General

Wilcote Cape Town is a full-service renovation and property improvement company serving residential, commercial and industrial clients across Cape Town and the Western Cape. We handle everything from complete building renovations and waterproofing to roofing, painting, epoxy flooring, structural repairs, rope access and building maintenance — delivered by a team with over 30 years of combined experience.

Wilcote Cape Town was established in 2018. Our team collectively brings over 30 years of hands-on experience in renovations, waterproofing, roofing, painting and building restoration — so while the company was founded in 2018, the expertise behind it goes back much further.

We service all areas of Cape Town and the Western Cape, including the Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl, Southern Suburbs, Northern Suburbs, Blouberg, Table View, Milnerton, Parklands, Durbanville, Bellville, Somerset West, Strand and Stellenbosch. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, give us a call and we’ll confirm.

Contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email to arrange a site visit. We’ll assess the project in person and provide a detailed written quotation. Call or WhatsApp us on +27 72 617 2731 or email info@wilcotecapetown.co.za. We’re available seven days a week.

Yes — all three. We work on private homes, luxury residences, apartment blocks, sectional title complexes, commercial offices, retail spaces, warehouses, factories, industrial facilities, schools, municipal buildings and hospitality properties. Our team is experienced across all property types.

Yes. We offer turnkey project delivery, handling the full scope of work from initial assessment and quotation through to completion and handover. You deal with one company, one point of contact and one accountable team throughout.

Renovations

We handle full residential renovations, commercial refurbishments, industrial upgrades, apartment block transformations, office fitouts, retail renovations and complete property revamps. Whether it’s a single room, a full house or a multi-storey building, we have the team and experience to deliver.

Yes. We regularly work with body corporates and property managers on apartment block renovations, exterior restorations, waterproofing, painting and maintenance programmes. We understand the specific requirements of sectional title schemes and work to minimise disruption to residents throughout the project.

Yes. We cover both. Structural work includes crack repairs, replastering, damp remediation and building restoration. Cosmetic work includes painting, flooring, ceilings, decking and finishing. Many of our projects involve a combination of both — restoring the structure first and then delivering the finish on top.

It depends on the size and scope of the project. A single-room refurbishment might take a few days. A full home renovation can take several weeks. A large apartment block or commercial project can run for months. We provide a realistic timeline as part of your quotation so you know exactly what to expect before work begins.

Waterproofing

We work with a range of systems depending on the application. These include torch-on bitumen membrane waterproofing, liquid-applied membranes, acrylic and elastomeric roof coatings, balcony and deck waterproofing systems, and damp-proof treatments for walls and slabs. We recommend the right system for each specific situation after assessing the property.

Contact us as soon as possible — flat roof leaks rarely fix themselves and typically get worse over time. We’ll carry out a site inspection to identify the source and extent of the problem, and recommend the most appropriate waterproofing solution. In many cases a full torch-on membrane system is the most durable long-term fix.

Yes. Balconies and exposed decks are common sources of water ingress, particularly in Cape Town’s coastal climate. We apply purpose-built waterproofing systems to balcony surfaces, parapets and deck structures that are designed to handle foot traffic, UV exposure and the Cape’s wind-driven rain.

Damp proofing addresses moisture rising through walls and floors from the ground — known as rising damp — or penetrating through external walls. Signs include peeling paint, tide marks on walls, a musty smell or visible mould. If you’re experiencing any of these, a site assessment will determine the cause and the right treatment. Left untreated, damp causes ongoing damage to plaster, paint and the structure itself.

A properly installed torch-on bitumen system typically lasts 10–15 years or more. Liquid-applied coatings and elastomeric systems generally last 5–10 years depending on the product and conditions. The Cape Town climate — UV, salt air and strong seasonal rain — can accelerate wear, which is why surface preparation and quality of application matter as much as the product itself.

Roofing

We cover new roof installation, tile repairs and replacement, IBR and corrugated metal sheet repairs, roof restoration, protective roof coatings and full roof refurbishment. We work on residential roofs, commercial buildings and industrial facilities across Cape Town.

In many cases, yes. We’ll assess the condition of your roof and give you an honest recommendation. If the structure is sound and the damage is localised, targeted repairs and a roof coating can extend the lifespan significantly at a fraction of replacement cost. If the roof is beyond cost-effective repair, we’ll tell you that too.

A roof coating is a protective layer applied over an existing roof surface to seal minor cracks, prevent water ingress and reflect UV. It’s ideal for roofs that are structurally sound but showing signs of surface wear. It’s a cost-effective way to extend roof life without a full replacement and can be reapplied as part of a maintenance programme.

Painting

Yes. We handle interior painting for rooms, ceilings and feature walls, and exterior painting for facades, boundary walls, roofs and full building exteriors. We also apply specialist weatherproof and elastomeric coatings for exterior surfaces that need enhanced protection against the Cape Town climate.

Yes — this is a significant part of our work. We regularly carry out full exterior painting programmes on apartment blocks, commercial buildings and industrial facilities. For multi-storey buildings or hard-to-reach facades, we can also use rope access rather than scaffolding, which reduces cost and disruption.

Always. Proper surface preparation is what separates a paint job that lasts from one that peels within a year. We repair cracks, skim coat uneven surfaces, apply primer and use high-pressure cleaning where needed before any paint goes on. We don’t skip steps to reduce cost — it’s not worth it in the long run.

Flooring

We specialise in epoxy floor coatings, Cemcrete finishes, polished and sealed concrete, and decorative floor systems. These are suited to garages, warehouses, factory floors, retail spaces, commercial kitchens and residential interiors where a durable, attractive and easy-to-clean surface is required.

Yes — epoxy is one of the best options for a home garage. It seals the concrete, resists oil and chemical spills, is easy to clean and dramatically improves the look of the space. It’s also highly durable under vehicle traffic. We prepare the concrete slab properly before application to ensure the coating bonds correctly and lasts.

Rope Access

Rope access is a method of reaching high or difficult areas of a building using abseiling and rigging techniques rather than scaffolding or elevated work platforms. Our technicians are trained and equipped to work safely at height on multi-storey buildings, steep roofs, facades and structures where conventional access is impractical or too expensive.

Yes, when carried out by trained and properly equipped technicians. Our rope access team follows established safety protocols and uses certified rigging equipment. Rope access is widely used in construction, building maintenance and industrial sectors globally precisely because it offers a safe, efficient alternative to scaffolding.

Rope access is typically recommended for high-rise buildings, buildings in tight urban locations where scaffolding can’t be erected safely, or projects where scaffolding cost would be disproportionate to the scope of work. It’s commonly used for facade inspections, exterior painting, waterproofing and cleaning on multi-storey residential and commercial buildings in Cape Town.

Body Corporates & Property Managers

Yes — this is an important part of our client base. We work directly with body corporates, managing agents, facilities management companies and property managers on planned maintenance, reactive repairs, waterproofing, painting and building restoration projects. We understand the approval and administrative processes involved and can provide the documentation and reporting needed.

Yes. We provide detailed, itemised written quotations that break down the scope of work, materials, methodology and pricing clearly. These are suitable for body corporate trustee meetings, AGMs and formal tender processes. Contact us to arrange a site assessment and we’ll prepare the documentation you need.

Yes. We have extensive experience working on occupied residential buildings and understand the importance of minimising noise, dust and disruption. We communicate clearly with all parties before and during the project and plan the work to limit impact on daily life as much as possible.
